This city builder is inspired by the Kowloon Walled City, an overpopulated and ungoverned area. In this way, the aim of the project is to create an environment with limited space for construction, where efficient land management is crucial. The population is the key to maintaining this city, as without its inhabitants, this anarchy could not exist.
On the other hand, the core mechanics of the game consist of maintaining the population by collecting resources such as wood, iron, coal and potatoes, with each resource being associated with a specific building. In addition, you can build houses to increase the population and buildings to collect resources. You can also build producer buildings, which allow you to exchange resources with each other, except for potatoes, which are used to feed the population. This makes it easier to obtain the necessary resources in emergency situations.
Furthermore, it is important to manage buildings such as the canteen and the hospital, as they consume resources and their demand increases with population growth. If not managed well, the lack of resources can cause malnutrition or disease in the inhabitants, negatively affecting progress. In addition, there is a technology tree that provides important advantages and requires the prior construction of a laboratory. The game progresses through different eras, unlocked by completing missions. Also, you can discover new areas on the map and occasionally the police will arrest part of your population.
As mentioned, the player must find a solution to grow and maintain the population. Therefore, one of the strategies that the game allows is to collect resources at the beginning and build the houses at the same time to avoid the canteen and the hospital consuming so many resources, since these are required by each inhabitant.
